*A CTG Recruit is a candidate who was recruited directly by Close the Gap California, and/or who received instrumental guidance from Close the Gap California before she launched her campaign for State Legislature.
It is rare that a talented leader is recruited by one sole entity. Although Close the Gap California has been the primary and even sole recruiter of multiple sitting legislators, it is more common—and more advantageous to the prospective candidate—when we are one early resource among many, actively working to seat additional partners around her decision making table.
To recruit at CTG is to:
1. introduce the idea of running for the Legislature to a progressive woman and engage her in an exploration of what running and serving would mean for her.
2. offer information, advice, expertise and introductions to a progressive woman who is considering running for the State Legislature, to help her make a good decision about whether, when, and where to run.
3. encourage a progressive woman who is actively considering running for the State Legislature to do so, by providing answers, experts and resources for her consideration.
