Dr. Ennette Morton is a senior higher-education executive, civic leader, and strategist with more than two decades of experience advancing equity, leadership development, and public service across education, government, and nonprofit sectors. She currently serves as Vice President of the Long Beach Community College District Board of Trustees and is actively engaged in statewide efforts to recruit, train, and support women leaders seeking elected and appointed office.
Dr. Morton’s career spans executive leadership roles in higher education administration, municipal government, and cultural institutions, where she has led strategic initiatives focused on organizational effectiveness, policy development, workforce pathways, and community engagement. Her work consistently centers on expanding access, strengthening governance, and building inclusive leadership pipelines.
A committed advocate for women’s leadership and civic participation, Dr. Morton works closely with organizations such as Close the Gap California to identify and prepare women to lead at the local, regional, and state levels. She brings a strategic, relational, and systems-level approach to leadership development, grounded in equity and public impact.
Dr. Morton holds an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership and an MBA from Pepperdine University, as well as a B.S. in Communication Arts/Public Relations from Cal Poly Pomona. She is the co-author of Leading the Charge for Change: Women Inspiring Leadership and is a frequent speaker on leadership, governance, and equity in public institutions.
