After a career at ALZA Corp in Project Management, Janet became a Certified Balance Instructor at the Balance Center, where she trains clients to align their skeleton with gravity to relieve back pain, “computer neck” and avoid hip and knee replacements. Her political life began with canvassing door-to-door in Salt Lake City in the fight to pass the Equal Rights Amendment and resulted in a lifetime of activism: election as VP of Political Action for the California National Organization for Women, volunteering on campaigns, & work on The 2012 Project. She was a medical assistant at an abortion clinic and is a board member of Teen Talk, which provides science-based sex ed. Janet earned a BS from Auburn University in Textile Design. A commitment to life-long learning and avid curiosity has led to extensive world travel when not kayaking.
