Danielle Carrig is Senior Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs for
Lifetime, a premier female-focused entertainment destination dedicated to offering the
highest quality original programming spanning scripted series, non-fiction series and
Carrig oversees the communications and publicity strategy for Lifetime, in
addition to leading the company’s Emmy Award-winning public affairs efforts. She was
recently recognized by the Alliance for Women in Media as a “Women Who Represent”
honoree and also honored by Dress for Success as their “Empower” honoree for her
work advocating on behalf of women. Variety named Carrig to their 2014 list of
“Hollywood’s New Leaders” featuring executives under the age of 40.
Broad Focus, the company’s latest major initiative under Carrig’s leadership, is
dedicated to increasing the numbers of women in behind-the- camera roles as directors,
writers and producers at Lifetime.
Prior to joining Lifetime, Carrig was Executive Director of Step Up Women’s
Network, a national non-profit membership organization based in Los Angeles.
Carrig’s expertise in non-profit governance and fund-raising developed during
her tenure as development director of UCLA’s groundbreaking Women & Philanthropy
program, the first university program of its kind.
Carrig holds an M.A. in women’s studies from UCLA, where she focused on the
implications of U.S. foreign policy on women’s lives in the developing world.
Additionally, she worked in academic publishing for Signs: Journal of Women in Culture
and Society, a preeminent journal in women’s studies.
Danielle earned her B.A. in political science, humanities and gender studies
summa cum laude from Valparaiso University.
