SNOPAC TRAINING – BUILD THE PROGRESSIVE AGENDA IN CENTRAL VALLEY & SIERRA COUNTIES

November 7, 2013 @ 8:00 am - November 8, 2013 @ 3:00 pm

The Campaign Summit and Training, sponsored by SNOPAC
(Sierra Nevada Opportunity Political Action Committee) and
labor partners will bring together candidates, organizations
and activists to win key progressive victories in the Sierra and
Central Valley in 2014 and subsequent cycles.
It is targeted to individuals, candidates, key volunteers,
progressive community organizations, labor and conservation
organizations that recognize many of our past losses occurred,
in part, because we did not stand together – though we share
common ground on most social justice issues.
We call it the “onus Coalition” – other than the usual
suspects. It is designed to end “politics as usual” and break the
conservative stranglehold on Central Valley and Sierra districts
that rightly belong to progressives.
It is designed specifically for those who previously engaged in
campaigns, but have not been part of the formal campaign
structure. It is part campaign boot camp and part alliance
building and will cover key elements of building and managing
a campaign, developing a winning message, connecting
fieldwork to success, and building progressive coalitions.
It will also be a summit, introducing candidates, discussing
issues of mutual importance, socializing, and helping to cement
a new progressive coalition.
This is launching a broader SNOPACeffort to build a lasting
alliance and campaign organizations that identify, educate,
train, and support progressive candidates in the Central Valley
and Sierra counties for future years. SNOPACand our labor
partners are in this for long haul and committed to create a lasting organization and structure to win changes for Valley/Sierra commmunities.
