Kennedy-Roosevelt Dinner

October 17, 2015 @ 4:30 am - 9:00 pm

Venue and Parking
The KRD will be in the Marshall Building, which is just beyond the large Forni Building, where a Rock and Gem show will be underway until 5:00 pm.  From Placerville Drive, turn right on Armory Drive, just before the Shell gas station.  Enter the Fairgrounds through the “Blue Gate.”  Tell the parking attendant that you are attending the Democratic dinner and you will not have to pay for parking.
Parking for our event is in the small lot in front of the Marshall Building and along the main road in front of the horse arena and on down toward the log cabin.  If you park along the road, please park nose-in at an angle so we can fit more cars.
Dress code
There is no dress code for this event. Wear what makes you happy!  Because we will be outside for the first part of the evening, you may want to bring a sweater or jacket if it is cool.
Taste of El Dorado
From 4:30 to 6:00 pm, we will be serving appetizers and wine tasting on the covered porch of the Marshall Building.  This is your opportunity to check out the items in the silent auction.
Silent Auction
Start your holiday shopping early at our silent auction!  There are many wonderful items, including handmade jewelry, original art, and baskets of goodies.
Dessert Dash
A KRD staple. We have a selection of delicious desserts, featuring many homemade specialties.  There will be an envelope on your table and everyone is encouraged to place money, checks, etc. inside.  Tables will be called to select their dessert in descending order, based on how much money has been placed in the envelope.
Live Auction
This year we have three exciting items that will be auctioned to the highest bidder after dinner. (1) Enjoy three nights in Lake Tahoe at a private home in Meyers, very close to hiking, skiing, casinos and dining. (2) Take a horseback ride and have a gourmet luncheon at Indian Creek Lake in Greenstone Country. (3) Purchase an exquisite painting by a well-known local artist.
We accept credit cards, cash and checks
