Congresswoman Jackie Speier is hosting an informational panel on Monday, March 30, 2015 AT 12 noon, during Women’s History Month, to discuss basic information about Alzheimer’s disease as well as the newest research and treatment options. NWPC members and supporters are invited to attend.

Did you know that:

  • 64% of Alzheimer patients are women
  • 60% of caregivers for their aging parents, spouses and other loved ones are women
  • In addition, there is a growing body of research suggesting that the most common Alzheimer’s risk gene has a greater effect in women than in men.  Further research will examine if this increased genetic risk is due to changes around the time of menopause that start the biological process leading to Alzheimer’s. Register here!
