18th Biennial CLUW Convention

November 18, 2015 @ 8:00 am - November 21, 2015 @ 5:00 pm

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

CLUW’s 18th Biennial Convention is happening at a most opportune time for working women.  With women making up almost half of the general workforce as well as comprising a large part of the organized labor movement our theme of“Women….Right NOW! Right Time! could not be more on target.  Through workshops, panels and convention speakers we will explore critical issues such as equal pay, paid leave, raising the minimum wage and domestic violence just to name a few. We will develop tactics to fight the attacks on labor rights and will be advocating for a peaceful world for our families, however we define them.  We expect the convention to set a progressive agenda for 2016, reinforcing our reputation in building strong, female union leaders as we have done for the last forty one years. Be prepared for an exciting, stimulating experience when we kick off on November 18th in Sacramento, California. I look forward to greeting you in a few months as we take on the challenge for working women.  Together we will win, Right Now Right Time!

In Solidarity,

Connie A. Leak
